Take a cup from a bucket of water and put it into a bucket of wine, then put a cup of the mixture from the wine bucket back into the water bucket.
By volume, is there more wine in the water or more water in the wine?
Neither. The level of liquid in either bucket did not change. So, the volume of wine missing from the wine bucket has been replaced by the same volume of water from the water bucket.
